History: Restoration for Life Ministries was founded in 2002 in the family room of Pastors Damon and Barbara Bridges in Stockton. It quickly outgrew the family room and moved to Oak Street in 2003. Within six months the Oak Street location was filled to capacity, which required another move to 610 N. Hunter St.
In its 13 years of existence, under the leadership of these amazing visionaries, Restoration for Life Ministries has become one of the fastest growing churches in the area. It is truly a community church that puts the community’s needs first. It assists those that need help in a variety of ways socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It strives to help “restore” those that are coming out of incarceration and to inspire those that are on the road to success.
Bishop Damon and Pastor Barbara Bridges have been honored on various occasions throughout the Stockton and Greater San Joaquin County area. Perhaps their greatest triumph comes in Pastor Damon being a two-time cancer survivor. His double defeat of this life-threatening disease not only speaks to his desire to live and give back but also to his steadfast faith in God and His healing power.
Mission: “To raise up a generation to walk in their purpose and fulfill their destiny.”
Restoration for Life Ministries has a vision that is centered on restoring people to a successful and prosperous place in life. They strive to work with people from all walks of life and at all socioeconomic levels. In keeping with the vision of restoring the whole person, Restoration For Life has accomplished the following:
- The founding of four covenant churches (including an all-Spanish-speaking service)
- "Women of War"
(WOW) and Women of War Family Conference that focus on women and families
- “Iron Sharpens Iron” — A men’s retreat designed to empower and inspire men of all ages and from all walks of life.
- Annual Downtown Community Carnival and Youth Explosion — created to provide young people in the community a place to experience the fun of a carnival and to showcase their talents.
Downtown Community Dance Program — a performing arts program, free of charge

These outreach programs have aided in helping others realize their full potential and put them on a road to success for their lives. Restoration For Life truly is the heartbeat of the community and continues to be innovative and creative in its approach to helping others. There are rare times that you will find the doors to the church locked or the building empty. Someone is always there to help.
Vision:
RFL believes that every individual was created for a purpose, yet many do not know what that purpose is. We at RFL firmly believe that as each individual discovers and begins to walk in his/her divine purpose, that not only will we as the church be much more effective in spreading the gospel and building the kingdom of God, but that these individuals will find true happiness and fulfillment in their lives, families, and community. RFL’s main purpose is to reach the lost and lead them into a saving relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Once that purpose is achieved, RFL will equip, encourage, and empower these individuals through the Word of God and various other vehicles sending them back into their community to effectuate positive change.
